The second book in the Iron Druid Chronicles, Hexed is an entertaining and fast-paced romp with a fascinating protagonist. Atticus is a smart-mouthed narrator and is at his best when he’s observing those around him and planning his next move. Fans of urban fantasy should definitely give this series a try!

After killing two of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Atticus O’Sullivan is besieged with requests to kill other gods — the most frequent request being Thor who is, apparently, a major jerk. Atticus really wants nothing more than to return to his quiet life and train his new apprentice, the devastatingly attractive Granuaile. Unfortunately, Atticus isn’t going to get his wish. He first finds himself under magical attack, then a demon comes to visit and then there’s a fallen angel to deal with. Throwing in his lot with the local coven of witches (with whom he has a mutual non-aggression treaty), Atticus discovers that they make pretty good allies in a fight against a coven of evil German witches bent on summoning more demons into the world.
