Hidden Away begins perfectly. Readers are immediately immersed in a taut mystery riddled with the give and take of a promising romance. Banks expertly sucks you in. However, the story stalls midway. The deceleration is only slightly distracting, and it doesn’t take long for things to pick back up and the story conclude with a satisfying and quite intense resolution.

Garrett Kelly and his KGI team have the inside track to reaching Marcus Lattimer: his half-sister. Garrett follows Sarah Daniels to a secluded island, where she’s hiding out after she witnessed a murder. Getting close enough to her to trap her brother will be tricky, but Garrett’s willing to do what it takes to finally catch his family’s enemy. Yet Sarah isn’t who he expects her to be. Instead, Garrett feels the need to protect her. Winning her trust might mean breaking her heart and spirit and destroying any faith left inside her.

Sarah Daniels was violently raped and her brother Marcus has killed to avenge her. As the only witness to the murder, Sarah flees the country to protect him. When Garrett shows up she’s wary, but there’s something about the man she trusts. Can she trust him with her life and her secrets? And can she trust him with her heart?
