Handeland is in top-notch form with her latest supernatural thriller, told in her gutsy heroine's first-person voice. Not only does hot talent Handeland provide a sizzling and mysterious hero, she also deftly explores the friendship between two strong women. The result is sizzling and suspenseful!

After she's date raped,
Claire Kennedy returns home to Lake Bluff, Ga., to finish the mayoral term
of her deceased father. She works
with her best friend, town sheriff Grace McDaniel. With the upcoming Full Moon Festival, both women have their hands full, especially when they learn
of the festival entertainment: a caravan of gypsy performers led by the sexy and intriguing Malachi.

Despite her recent fear of men, Claire finds herself attracted to Mal. But then a hiker is attacked by a
wolf, and Claire and Grace sense that strange things are afoot. Something evil is gathering, and Claire seems
to be the target. (ST. MARTIN'S, Aug., 352
