HIDE AND SNOOP
by Sue Ann Jaffarian

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

Adventures in Babysitting doesn’t have anything on this episode of Odelia Grey’s life. This time, readers’ favorite plus-sized sleuth not only has the police looking at her as a prime suspect, she has to protect herself — and the toddler she’s minding — from a contract killer.

A merger at Odelia’s law firm has her fighting for her job against haughty boss Erica and an arrogant co-worker. She’s also been drafted to babysit Erica’s 3-year-old niece Lily when Erica disappears for the weekend. Girded for battle, Odelia goes to her boss’s house in the middle of the night and finds Erica’s sister, Lily’s mother, murdered. Her attempts to find the real killer tangle her up with a black-market baby ring run by an odd pair of baddies. (MIDNIGHT INK, Sep., 288 pp., $14.99)
