At the turn of the last century, on the grounds of a school that assures parents their daughters will be raised to be refined young ladies, a teacher is killed. Though school headmistress Meredith Llewellyn is bright and intuitive and the paranormal atmosphere adds an interesting touch, it's hard to connect with Kent's amateur sleuth.

Bellehaven House has been in
turmoil since teacher Kathleen Duncan's body was discovered on the grounds, dead from what's assumed to be a dreadful accident. But when the school's headmistress, Meredith, discovers evidence indicating murder and keeps seeing Kathleen's animated ghost on the grounds, she begins her own investigation.
