The fourth installment in the Daughters
of the Glen series is a light, quick read that's designed to be fun and enjoyable. Mayhue succeeds in entertaining her audience.

Life has thrown many curves at Ellie Denton, but at least the strange mark that appeared on her chest isn't cancerous. The mark tingles when she wishes for a man of her own and it then whisks her through time to 1304 Scotland.

Caden Macalister has his own troubles. Since his failed betrothal he believes he will never wed. When he finds Ellie he's positive she's destined for one of his brothers, while his mother insists it's fairy magic that's brought them together. Ellie almost believes it's true, since her ability to commune with animals is getting stronger, and she's the only one who can help save the clan when a blight affects the livestock. But stubborn Caden needs a lot of convincing to realize he and Ellie were meant for one another -- and that's where the fun begins. (POCKET, Feb., 352 pp., $6.99)
