HILL COUNTRY CATTLEMAN (4.5) by Laurie Kingery: Visiting her family in Simpson Creek, Texas, Violet Brookfield meets her first cowboy when she asks Raleigh Masterson for help reaching her brother’s ranch. She’s visiting to avoid scandal, but as an aspiring author, she hopes to learn much about the west for her novel. It’s not long until Raleigh’s and Violet’s love of horses brings them together. However, Raleigh is not the only one to find Violet attractive, and her second admirer puts them both in danger. The sixth addition to the Brides of Simpson Creek series has plenty of action and a hero and heroine who are clearly compatible. Readers will also enjoy the lively secondary characters and seeing some familiar faces.
