Sienna Rushford is having a bad month: she lost her job, her mother was diagnosed with MS and her landlord sold the apartment building they were living in. The only silver lining is that her biological father has left her a nice inheritance, but to claim it, she must be happily married. So she proposes to Keir Alexander; they marry for one year in exchange for money to help save his business. Keir had planned to propose to Sienna once he was back on his feet and now he must face being THE HIRED HUSBAND (2) or risk that she'll marry someone else. Kate Walker's latest has some redeeming moments where the story is appealing and the characters are interesting, but they tend to get lost in the shuffle with an overall convoluted premise and characters that never emotionally connect or even appear to be on the same wavelength.
