When a rectory house near his estate changes ownership, James goes to meet the new owner and is knocked for a loop to see gorgeous single mother Sara. The attraction between the two is palpable, but once Sara learns that James had wanted to buy her property, she decides the best revenge is to lure him into an affair, which quickly backfires when she falls in love with him. With a weak conflict and convoluted plot, His Convenient Mistress (1) by Cathy Williams is uninspiring and dry. There isn't enough spark to keep readers engaged through the story's end.
