This is a great addition to Pillow’s Dragon Lords tales, featuring excellent new characters with a delightful romance as well as a nice bit of action. It fits in well with previous stories and leaves the reader eager for the next in the series.

Aeron Grey uncovers a plot to commit genocide on the planet Qurilixen and, determined to stop it, she turns to her degenerate sister for help. Her sister’s solution is to sign them up as prospective brides for the men of Qurilixen. Aeron is chosen by Lord Bronislaw, High Duke of Draig, seeking a bride for the seventh time. During their get-acquainted night they make the mistake of consummating their marriage. For Bron, it means dishonor; for Aeron, because of her alien heritage, it may mean death. Can Aeron convince Bron of the seriousness of her self-imposed mission? Can Bron convince her to accept their marriage and stay with him? (THE RAVEN, Feb., 217 pp., $13.99)
