Book Review

by Beth Wiseman

Genre: Inspirational, Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

Wiseman’s third Land of Canaan novel overflows with romance, broken promises, a modern knight in shining armor and hope at the end of the rainbow. The subject matter may upset some, but the story is touching. A glossary with definitions of Pennsylvania Dutch words helps readers enjoy the story.

Danielle Kent is pregnant and in love with the father of the baby, but there are some problems: He is Amish and she is not, and he wants nothing to do with her or the baby. Danielle turns to her best friend, Levi, for help. Levi does everything in his power to make sure Danielle and her baby are happy and safe, without stepping over the line of his Amish ways. Will their friendship turn into something more if one of them is willing to change their way of life? (THOMAS NELSON, Oct., 320 pp., $15.99)
