His Royal Love-Child (3), by Lucy Monroe, is a story in which an unexpected pregnancy brings two lovers closer than they ever thought they could be. When Danette Michaels enters into a secret affair with her boss, Principe Marcello Scorsolini, she accepts his need for complete secrecy, as well as the fact that there will be no happily ever after. Six months later, Danette is in love with Marcello. When he refuses to change his rules, Danette ends their affair and prepares to move on, until she discovers she's carrying his child. Suddenly, everything is different and both Marcello and Danette must overcome the walls they have built up if they are to live happily ever after. Danette and Marcello are likeable and sympathetic characters who quickly endear themselves to the reader, and make this an enjoyable read despite a somewhat predictable storyline.
