Fans have been waiting to find out what Allie and Gavin have been up to since the first book in the Promise Harbor Wedding series — and the wait was worth it. Humor and outstanding dialogue make this an upbeat, fun read. The characters are wonderfully flawed; they’re very realistic and readers will cheer them on. Ultimately, the formulaic ending is not as exciting as the rest of the book.

Allison Ralston has spent her whole life trying to please her family, so she’s about to marry the wrong man. She likes her fiancé, but she’s not in love with him. In the middle of the ceremony, her ex-boyfriend, Gavin, bursts into the church. Allie is unsure of her next move, but being back in Gavin’s arms feels right. Overcome by stress, lack of sleep and too much alcohol, she wakes up to find that Gavin has taken her home with him to Alaska — 4,000 miles away. Gavin knows exactly what he wants, but must convince Allie to give him another shot. (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $5.50)
