This collection of stories is most certainly geared to the romantic at heart. Each one centers around a protagonist who finds unexpected love and, in two of the three stories, marriage. The authors are all talented, but several characters require additional development.
In Amethyst's "From SKB with Love" Venetta, a grieving widow, decides to bypass Christmas. When a friend wins a trip to St. Kitts, she doesn't expect to enjoy herself, but she meets a mystery man, falls in love and must choose between a future with him or wallowing in the memories of a lost love.
"No Ordinary Gift," by Rochon, features Kemah and Tyson, from opposite sides of the track. Kemah wants to give back to the community center, while Tyson, who grew up wealthy, becomes the center's new director. To win at the center, he needs to win at love and sets out to rekindle what he had with Kemah.
Worth's "HeavenSent.com" adds a little paranormal to the mix as guardian angels aim to bring together friends who are destined to be a couple. They try online dating, and just when all seems lost, guardian angels come to the rescue. (LEISURE, Oct., 336 pp., $6.99)
