HOLIDAY WITH A VAMPIRE 4 (3) by Susan Krinard, Theresa Meyers & Linda Thomas-Sundstrom: This is a sweet trio of novellas about falling in love with vampires. In Krinard’s “Halfway to Dawn,” soldier Fiona Donnelly meets vampire slave Jonathan Kane when Kane helps her protect a negotiator who can help end the vampire/human war. In Meyers’ “The Gift,” vampire Cullen McCormack must get Angelica Edwards to give him a family heirloom locket that holds his freedom. And in Thomas-Sundstrom’s “Bright Star,” the strongest of the three, Dylan McCay is sent from the heavens to stop scientist Savannah Clark from finding the origin of a star that could let humans know angels and fallen exist. The stories are all novel in their approach, although the short lengths make them feel a bit rushed. Also contains “The Gatekeeper” prequel.
