Traumatized by the death of her mother at the hands of a rapist, young Marybeth Lawson began writing to a pen pal who was going through a similar ordeal. Although she never met him, James Winston Malone became her best friend. Years later, when Marybeth falls in love with a customer at her inn named Craig McKellips, she's shocked
to learn that Craig and James are one and the same person. But staying at her inn without confessing his true identity isn't Craig's only secret. Tara Taylor Quinn's The Holiday Visitor (3)
is a solid story, although it drags at times. The set-up to Craig's reveal
is very lengthy, and the resolution
too fast-paced.
