Book Review

HOLLYWOOD HIGH
by Ni-Ni Simone, Amir Abrams

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Young Adult

RT Rating

The Pampered Princesses of Hollywood High are mean, spoiled, self-absorbed and horrible — especially to one another. They take no responsibility for their actions, which can be frustrating for readers. Simone and Abrams, however, manage to make this glimpse into celebrity life an enjoyable read.

Rich, London, Heather and Spencer are rich teen socialites, daughters of high-profile celebrities. Focused on designer clothes, diamonds and their images, they’re frenemies who brawl with one another, posting viral videos and blogs about each other, all to get media attention. They’re envied by their peers and the wannabes. But they each have secrets that cause them deep pain. (KTEEN, Oct., 288 pp., $9.95, ISBN: 9780758263179, PB, 14 & Up)
