Let’s face it: Woods knows romance. This sequel to Seaview Inn is warm and gooey, like a fudge brownie straight out of the oven. The storyline doesn’t get interrupted when Woods brings back characters from the first book; rather, it’s like welcoming back old friends. The tale flows with ease, and many will find it comforting that she keeps it up-to-date with a whole slew of lovable characters. An excellent read!

Divorcée Abby Miller returns home to Seaview Key in hopes of starting anew. She’s not looking for love (or so she thinks) until she nearly drowns and is saved by gorgeous paramedic Seth Landry. Seth is a former military man who moved to the shore in an attempt to mend a broken heart. Abby and Seth each have loads of baggage and must resolve their own issues in order to heal themselves. But love is in the air and an unexpected romance may be just the remedy for them both. (MIRA, Feb., 384 pp., $7.99)
