Peterson and Miller team up again in their third trip to Bridal Veil Island. These ladies can be counted on for a lovely story. While this is very well written and enjoyable, the characters are difficult to fully engage with, and the pacing is a little slow. However, as with the other books in the series, events pick up toward the end as a happily ever after is on the horizon.

Callie DeBoyer isn’t sure about where her future lies. A new arrival to Bridal Veil Island, she is employed as a governess. Upon receiving letters from her family, she feels the need to join them in the mission fields of Africa. Escaping to Africa seems even more attractive when she’s accused of stealing some priceless jewels. Then, Callie meets Wesley Townsend and begins to care for him deeply. When she discovers secrets about his past, she wonders if she can honor and trust him. (BETHANY HOUSE, Jan., 384 pp., $14.99)
