Burton once again delivers in this small-town romance with a sexy hero and a likable heroine. The author deftly shows that opposites attract in this relationship-driven story. Readers will fall in love with the characters even faster than they fall in love with each other.

The last thing cattle rancher Logan McCormack expects is to be so smitten with an actress, but Desiree Jenkins is more than her bad-girl reputation. She wants to get away from her Hollywood life — especially the paparazzi and gossip magazines — and thinks Logan and his ranch are just what she needs. Logan can’t understand why she’s so interested in him, so Des has to convince him that she’s just a normal woman who wants to be accepted for the person she is, not the star people want her to be. Will Des find a happily ever after better than any movie has to offer? (JOVE, Apr., 304 pp., $7.99)
