Bernard thrills again with her fast-talking women and smooth-talking men. The second in her Bachelor Firemen series is a fast-paced, laugh-a-minute ride that will have readers turning the pages at lightning speed. With a series of fires pushing the characters together and a cast of characters that should be headed to the big screen, this is a great read.

Ryan Blake is in serious need of a distraction. He finds it in Katie Dane, manager of the Hair of the Dog bar, where he gets into a fight just hours before an interview to have him reinstated to the fire department. Katie hates the bar and all of its debt, until Ryan takes a job there while he waits to be reinstated. Suddenly the bar seems to be doing better then ever. However, a series of small fires has Ryan retracing his roots and coming face to face with his estranged father, threatening both his career and his relationship with Katie.
