Violet Kilbride's gift of second sight seems to have deserted her. She has come to her deceased grandmother's cottage in County Kilkenny, which now belongs to her, to see if it might return. Vi needs her gift to create her art and dream her dreams. What she finds is her first love from 15 years ago, Liam Rafferty.

Liam has returned home to seek the Rafferty treasure that legend says is hidden on Vi's land. The search has Liam and Vi working together, but their ideas on what should be done if they find it, Vi's secret from their shared past and Liam's daughter threaten their reunion.

This finale to Kelly's Ballymuir trilogy is funny and warm, with a bit of mystery too. The characters are well-developed, with fascinating family dynamics that keep the reader involved till the end. (Dec., 384 pp., $6.99)
