Maggie Holms is a physical therapist who helps her patients channel their anger into their rehabilitation. She's had a crush on Pete for a long time, but she's battling her own demons, and only Pete seems to see them as they work together to rebuild the strength in his legs and Maggie's self-confidence. Michelle Celmer's House Calls (4.5) is a unique Desire story featuring two characters with health issues. Its depth of character and emotion makes it a very heartfelt, compelling read.
