An emotional story of two people discovering who they really are. Their dealings with friends and family portray various types of love as they accept themselves for who they are and embrace their love for one another.

Ex-cop Owen Bancroft’s return to Cypress Hollow is accompanied by an accident that has him working with Lucy Harrison to save Lucy’s pregnant friend. The whole rescue upsets volunteer firefighter Lucy, not only because she’d never done anything this dangerous, but because Owen is the boy from high school who turned her world upside down with a kiss and then left town. Owen had good reasons for leaving and his reasons for returning are to heal, both physically and emotionally. Getting involved with Lucy isn’t part of his plan, and it doesn’t help that his injuries have him feeling unable to take care of her, especially when he realizes she’s an EMT. As for Lucy, Owen’s return will rock her world. (MORROW, Mar., 368 pp., $13.99)
