HOW TO SEDUCE A VAMPIRE (WITHOUT REALLY TRYING)
Sparks allows previous characters from the Love at Stake series to make an appearance to keep things familiar and introduces new ones to keep the story fresh. While Neona occasionally comes off as a little lacking in personality, Sparks’ writing is so stellar that there’s no dearth of great character development and excellent storytelling. Overall, this is another winner for Sparks!
Vampire Zoltan Czakvar has a clue that may finally help him discover the truth about his father’s death. He’s been searching for centuries and he’s not easily distracted, until a warrior woman captures him. Spotting the strange man near her village, Neona thinks handsome Zoltan will make the perfect mate. After all, men are good for just one thing and it’s her turn to provide a daughter to her people. But it doesn’t take long for her to see that there is more to the vampire than his good genes — too bad she has a secret so big it will turn the vampire world on its ear. (AVON, May, 384 pp., $7.99)
