Book Review

ON HUMMINGBIRD WINGS
by Lauraine Snelling

Genre: Inspirational, Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

Snelling, a wonderful, talented writer, has brought readers a novel with characters who seem more real than fictional. They want to do the right thing, but face challenges when the people they are there for will not meet them at least half-way. Still, the characters serve as an example to readers when they don’t throw in the towel and instead think of creative ways to solve problems.

Gillian Ormsby does not have time to fly to California because her mother is dying, but she does anyway. Her mother is always dying, has been since she and her sister were small. The house also needs attention, so Gillian hires a local gardener, Adam, to whip the yard back into shape.

Gillian proceeds to try everything in her bag of tricks to get her mother up and out of her bed, with very little success, until an older gentleman, Enzio, enters the picture and somehow convinces her mother to take a cruise with him. Gillian and Adam get to know each other and come to realize they have feelings for each other. Will love blossom between a career-oriented woman and a man who loves digging in the dirt?
