Marsh quickly draws you in and then shoots you down a dark and twisty tunnel full of sex, cats, Egyptian lore and some creative worldbuilding. With so much going on, the action is confusing
at times, but the pace keeps the reader motivated to find out what's going to happen next. The relationship between the heroine and her sexy guardian cat isn't deep, but it's enough to be interesting and entertaining.
Jafar knows Miu is trouble the moment he sees her, and you'd think with his past mistakes he'd avoid her, but something about Miu compels him to find out more. When he discovers she's a thief, he must decide whether to follow his heart and do what feels right, which means risking his life, or follow the rules he was created to uphold.
