With the print release of Walker's first two Hunters books, readers can enjoy the return of Tori and Declan and meet Elijah and Sarel for the first time.

Elijah Crawford, a 300-year-old vampire, is desperate to find a woman of his own, now that his obsession with police officer Tori is over. Maybe his luck will change after meeting feisty witch Sarel. But Sarel, ruled by justice, is not looking for love; she is determined to kill him.

Eli and Sarel's meeting is explosive. They learn to relinquish their hate for each other and nurture the seeds of care and admiration. Their intense internal conflicts, coupled with hot, searing sex, gives this story life. Unfortunately, the small mystery near the end of the story reads like a plot device to create a black moment for the hero. But this is a small hiccup in an otherwise wonderful, interesting and highly entertaining novel. (Oct., 112 pp., $12.99)
