HUSBANDS AND OTHER STRANGERS
After a diving accident, sportscaster Gayle Elliott Conway remembers everything -- except her 18-month-old marriage. Her husband, Taylor, is as puzzled by this as her doctor. Though occasionally rocky, their relationship was solid prior to the mishap. A home renovator by trade, Taylor's more logical than romantic, but he's willing to do whatever it takes to find out what caused Gayle's amnesia, includ-ing win his wife's affections all over again. Marie Ferrarella's latest, Husbands and Other Strangers (3), is not your garden-variety amnesia story. Far from a wimpy victim, Gayle has some rough edges, as does Taylor. Although not the author's best, it's interesting.
