I DO, I DO, I DO
Handsome con artist Jean Jacques Villette has managed to seduce, marry, steal from and abandon several wealthy spinsters, much to the surprise of the wives, who meet when Juliette March Villette follows her missing husband to Oregon. Juliette and wife number two, Clara Klaus, team up to follow Jean Jacques trail to Washington State and Zoe Wilder who also said I do to the grifter.
The three very angry women decide to locate their husband and kill him. They track him to Alaska, but along the way they each meet the man for them. But these once-burned, twice-shy ladies are not ready to tie the knot until they get some sage advice from a surprising source.
The delightful ensemble cast of characters makes this a tantalizing read. Ms. Osborne has constructed her story so well that we even like Jean Jacques and understand why the women fell in love with the two-timer (or rather, three-timer). Curl up and enjoy this one with a smile. SENSUAL (Oct., 400 pp., $6.50)
