In the third installment of Harris' eerie and mesmerizing series, big changes are afoot for plucky psychic heroine Harper Connelly. Emotions run high in this terrifying tale, and things will never be the same for Harper or Tolliver. What more could you ask for than a creepy mystery and a chilling drama?

Finder-of-the-dead Harper runs into her most horrifying case to date when she's asked to try to locate the bodies of missing boys. Over the last few years, six teenage boys have disappeared from Doraville, N.C. Until recently it was assumed they ran away, but it doesn't take Harper long to find the killing field. Although she can tell the boys were tortured, her gift can't reveal the identity of the serial killer.

When Harper is attacked in a parking lot, her stepbrother, Tolliver, fears the killer has her in his sights. Since the authorities won't let them leave town, Harper and Tolliver are drawn deeper into the horror that grips the area. (BERKLEY PRIME CRIME, Oct., 304 pp., $23.95)
