Book Review

by Duffy Brown

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

This amusing, thoroughly entertaining mystery by Brown (aka Dianne Castell) has perfect accomplices, plenty of suspects and humorous situations. The high society of Savannah, Ga., is the perfect setting for Reagan to delve into various scandals and murders.

Reagan Summerside is flat broke after a messy divorce. Furthermore, her real estate broker husband left her for a hot blonde and took her Lexus with him. The only thing she has left is an old Victorian home in need of renovations. Deciding to sell some of her high-end clothes from her house leads to a new business venture. Things are looking up, but when she borrows her ex’s Lexus to make a delivery, she finds the hot blonde dead in the trunk. Now her ex is the prime suspect, and he needs a good defense — insisting Reagan sell the Victorian to pay the lawyers. Reagan is not about to relinquish her house without a fight. Her only option is to save the lawyer’s fees and catch the killer herself. (PRIME CRIME, Oct., 304 pp., $7.99)
