Cochran’s newest entry in her Gourmet De-lite Mystery series is a pleasurable read that combines mouth-watering recipes with appealing characters and a suspense-filled plot. Iced to Death has all the right ingredients for a good mystery and is definitely worth the read.
Gigi is trying to expand Gourmet De-Lite, her low-calorie food-delivery business in Woodstone, Conn. When her younger sister, Pia, shows up out of the blue to crash with her, Gigi escapes by helping local café owner Declan cater an engagement party thrown by the richest family in town. What should be a wonderful night ends in horror when the father of the groom is found dead in a parking lot with an ice pick sticking out of his head. Putting her business goals on hold, Gigi is trying to assist her boyfriend, Detective Mertz, in solving the case before the town riots. (PRIME CRIME, Mar., 304 pp., $7.99)
