LaTonya Stevens and Carlton Harrington constantly clash, which is not great for their employee/employer relationship. But, underneath, there's mutual attraction ... until Carlton's behavior drives LaTonya away. Years later, he realizes she was the only woman for him and sets out to find her. But LaTonya's got secrets of her own in Gwyneth Bolton's If Only You Knew (3). This book has some major ups (a whirlwind courtship) and serious downs (huge arguments and a manipulative grandfather). Also, initially, readers may wonder why a smart, independent woman is attracted to a man with few redeeming qualities. Ultimately, though, the resolution is satisfying.
