There’s nothing more modern than virtual-to-real-life relationships, and it appears this may be a rising trend in romance and erotica. Carver does a great job handling her character’s issues, but at the same time there are a lot of issues that are resolved a bit too conveniently. Rayna and Kyle are an adorable couple, but secondary characters are flat caricatures. More time with Rayna and Kyle’s relationship and delving into their challenges could have made for a better story.

Erotica author Rayna Sommers may have the ideal boyfriend for an agoraphobic: totally online. But when Kyle pushes her to let him visit, she discovers there’s a lot more to him than he’s previously admitted, including the fact that his family’s company is the one about to shutter the doors on her publisher. Rayna has to overcome her trust issues — and her inability to go outside — if she wants things with Kyle to work. (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $3.50)
