Andre scores with another fantastic Sullivan book. With this entry, she explores the emotions of two characters who have major commitment issues — stemming from their parents. With a ton of animal cuteness, this story will tug at the heartstrings.

Bribed into watching his brother’s puppy, Cuddles, Zach Sullivan needs all the help he can get. When a kindly neighbor takes pity on him and calls a local dog trainer, Zach is more than happy for the help. Heather Linsey is immediately put off by her new client. He’s handsome, charming and thinks that he is irresistible. Unfortunately, the attraction between them is too strong, and she gives in. Zach is having feelings that he’s never felt before and starts to get scared that he will mess everything up, so he calls a halt to the relationship. Can these two scarred souls mend each other’s broken hearts? (MIRA, Nov., 352 pp., $7.99)
