Carew packs a lot of hot, sweaty sex onto nearly every page with m/m, multiple partners and role-playing. Unfortunately, all of the “tab A into slot B” sex leaves no room for a fully developed romance, a convincing plot or authentic characters. What keeps the couple apart and brings them together feels manufactured, and a paranormal element in the story is even less believable.

Lindsay is expecting a fun girls’ weekend when she shows up at a penthouse — but the apartment is inhabited by three men she’s fantasized about. While she enjoys all three men, Erik is the “one.” He feels the same, but he’s been burned before by women who find out about his special gift. When the weekend ends, he lets Lindsay go. It isn’t until Erik’s roommates step in that a future together becomes a fantasy come true. (ST. MARTIN’S GRIFFIN, Mar., 288 pp., $15.99)
