Wow. Pike has taken her already acclaimed series and turned the story up a notch. It’s full of plot twists and character development that keep the pages flying. You’ll love seeing Pike explore and develop her faerie world and its politics. I can hardly wait for the next book!

Senior year is starting, and Laurel is relieved that no trolls have been seen for months — until she sees Tamani among a small group of foreign exchange students at school. Laurel is glad to have him back, but it definitely complicates her social life. Among those students is also Yuki, a young girl Klea has asked Laurel to look out for. But Yuki is not as innocent as she seems, and Klea’s still a mystery. As tensions rise between Tamani and David, trolls begin to disappear into thin air, and a rogue faerie seems to threaten them all. Laurel must make some hard choices, both for herself and for Avalon. As romance, duty and a desperate need for information collide, a danger to Avalon and the entire faerie world as they know it is uncovered.
