The engrossing Curse of the Templars series hits another high note with its third installment, packed with the tension and passion fans have come to expect. Though the series focuses on a central theme and each book contains similar elements and variations on that theme, Ashgrove’s characters are diverse and complex enough to render each unique. Here, two parallel tales of betrayal cast a shadow over our hero and heroine, adeptly complicating this tale of destined soul mates and forcing them to overcome their own pasts in order to form a future together.

Archeologist Chloe Broussard has always been afraid of the dark, sensing the evil that lurks in the shadows, waiting for her. When her dig site in Ornes, France, reveals the Veil of Veronica, Chloe is plunged into a world of danger, playing a part in a centuries-old prophecy. At her side is Lucan of Seacourt, an immortal Templar Knight whose past is filled with the memory of his own brother’s betrayal. With the curse of the Templars staining his soul, Lucan struggles to trust anyone — including the woman he has sworn to protect above all others, even while knowing she is the only person who can save him from his dark fate.
