RT Rating

The world of the Immortals continues to expand as readers meet a sexy new hero whose supernatural gifts are most remarkable. Skillful Popp adds potential roadblocks to this story by making miscommunication a real danger to be reckoned with. Reading a Popp novel is always a pleasure.

Since participating in the battle to destroy a demon, wood nymph and reporter Mai Groves has been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Assuming that she's dreaming or hallucinating, Mai doesn't believe that the lover she met on the spirit plane is real.

Chameleon and spirit walker Nick Blackhawk doesn't realize initially that the lover he adores on the spirit plane is the feisty reporter who wants to interview him. Nick's security and supernatural expertise are put to use when a young woman disappears from Mai's apartment complex. Something dark and strange is going on in Mai's building, and Nick has his work cut out for him if he's to keep this woman safe. (LOVE SPELL, Nov., 368 pp., $7.99)
