In IMPROPER CONDUCT (2), Isabel Grayson enlists the help of her former lover, Nick Novak, to find her runaway teenage sister, Louise. Nick agrees to help on two conditions—one, Isabel leaves her wealthy lifestyle behind to go on the streets with him and two, she stays with him during the night. For personal reasons, Nick wants Isabel to experience first-hand what it means to be homeless. The story has a shaky premise that, at first, makes Nick seem predatory and Isabel superficial. Though the crux of the plot seems somewhat silly, Patricia Rosemoor's story and characters become more engaging as it progresses.
