Ms. Hart chooses to set her latest tale of romantic suspense in the high profile world of professional sports. Those looking for danger and passion spiced with humor will find she delivers.

Being found trapped inside a locker in NFL expansion team, Columbus Knights', locker room, is not an auspicious way to start an assignment. Reporter Jessica Myers is embarrassed when caught in this compromising position by the team quarterback, Ty James. After their uncomfortable introduction, Jess and Ty aren't thrilled when team owner Tom Nelson suggests that Ty help Jess get information for her story. To everyone's surprise their angry rhetoric turns into passionate sparks.

When Ty discovers that Jess is a phenomenal place kicker, he convinces the team to hire her to help coach their struggling kicker, Alan Cumrine. Alan and Jess are making major strides when Alan is killed in a drive-by shooting...while driving Jess' car.

Jess and Ty's courtship is interrupted by several other strange incidents: failed drugs tests, a poisoning and an attempt on Ty's life. It seems that someone is targeting team members and their families.
