A laugh-out-loud historical romance with outstanding, independent-minded characters. I especially liked feisty Charlotte, who thinks she can control everyone. Y’Barbo is a talented author who knows how to write believable characters and plausible situations.

Charlotte Beck wants nothing more than to go to college and work in her father’s firm. Her father would rather see her married, and when he notices Charlotte spending a lot of time with astronomer Alex Hambly, he offers them a deal: get married and he will allow Charlotte to attend college. They agree, secretly planning to annul their marriage. Will they succeed in pulling the wool over her father’s eyes, or will they open their own eyes and see they were meant to be together?
