Book Review

THE INNOCENT
by Taylor Stevens

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Thriller, Mystery

RT Rating

Stevens’ follow-up to The Informationist puts Vanessa “Michael” Munroe back into a terrifying world of violence. The characters shine, and the main cult storyline is all too realistic since the author grew up in a similar environment. It will captivate new readers and thrill fans of the first book.

Vanessa receives a visit from a good friend who asks a favor. Eight years earlier, a 5-year-old girl named Hannah was kidnapped and forced to live in a cult. Her father has an idea where she is and hopes Munroe can rescue her. The only way to successfully steal her back involves Munroe becoming the cult’s newest member. Can she maintain her sanity long enough to initiate a rescue? (CROWN, Jan., 336 pp., $24.00)
