THE INVENTION OF SARAH CUMMINGS
There is romance, secrecy and a lot of laughter in Newport’s third Avenue of Dreams story. The storyline flows evenly throughout the novel, and the life lessons of “never try to be someone you are not,” and “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side,” are well told. Newport knows what keeps her readers interested in her novels and has perfected it in this series.
Sarah Cummings wants more out of life than being a servant. To rub elbows with the wealthy families in the area, she needs to be very clever in her disguise to make sure no one on either side of the tracks discovers the truth. When a gentleman of wealth gets too interested in her, can she take the risk and tell him the truth of who she really is, or will she lose everything she has taken for granted?
