This romp is a delightful fae follow-up to The Iron King. Newcomers will quickly pick up the pace of this paranormal page-turner. Though the action lags in the middle, the beginning and end make up for the strange detour.

Sixteen-year-old Megan Chase is the half-fairy daughter of King Oberon, ruler of the summer fairies. She is currently a “guest” (or prisoner, depending on who you talk to) at the court of the winter fairies. To make matters more complicated, Megan’s maybe-boyfriend is a Winter Prince fairy who won’t acknowledge her. But all that changes when the Iron fairies steal the seasons-scepter and frame Megan. The theft pits the summer and winter fairies against each other. Now it is up to Megan to retrieve the scepter and stop the war.
