THE IRRESISTIBLE BLUEBERRY BAKESHOP AND CAFE
by Mary Simses

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

Simses’ delectable debut novel is engaging from start to finish. Filled with humor and a tiny bit of mystery, it will delight readers as they immerse themselves in small-town Maine life and meet all the characters found there.

Ellen Branford’s beloved grandmother passes away, and with her dying breath she asks Ellen to deliver a letter to a man in Beacon, Maine, the town where her grandmother grew up. Ellen leaves behind her fast-paced New York City life and fiancé for a day to deliver the letter — but the task is a bit more difficult than she imagined it would be. As she meets many locals, Ellen finds herself drawn to the people, one man in particular, and gets involved in some interesting situations. (LITTLE, BROWN, Jul., 352 pp., $26.00)
