THE IRRESISTIBLE MACRAE
by Karen Ranney

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: Scotland, 1778

RT Rating

James MacRae is one of the five handsome, charismatic MacRae brothers
who give new meaning to the words Highland Lord.

Sent on a mission by his uncle to help an old friend, he and Riona McKinsey become
friends. Riona is a strong-willed but dutiful young woman who is compromised by
a cad while visiting Edinburgh. Now she must marry a man she does not love to
save her reputation.

Along comes James and love. Riona
does not really want to admit that she has fallen for James, but he's not
reluctant at all about his pursuit. The trouble is how to get her to admit she's
in love with him and to escape that unwanted betrothal.

Though not as emotionally intense
or as densely plotted as many of her
previous novels, THE IRRESISTIBLE MACRAE is a light-hearted, fun romance that
pleases. The charming characters (especially the villain) are simply fun to watch
as they play out their hands. This is the kind of story that delivers hours of

pleasurable escape. SENSUAL (Dec., 384
pp., $5.99)
