IT MUST HAVE BEEN THE MISTLETOE … (4) by Kate Hoffmann, Rhonda Nelson & Tawny Weber: There’s something for everyone in this Christmas-themed anthology about the three Cole sisters, who range from serious and sexy to ridiculous and raunchy. In Hoffman‘s “When She Was Naughty … ,” musicologist Alison Cole heads to the Blue Ridge Mountains in search of forgotten singer Ettie Lee Harper’s cabin, and runs into Miss Ettie’s handsome caretaker, Dr. Drew Phillips. In “Cole for Christmas,” by Nelson, childhood pals Bryant Bishop and Layla Cole are thrown together when Layla is tapped to play mandolin for country superstar Clint Walker, whom Bryant is working security detail for. Things heat up when he confesses his lifelong crush to her. In “A Babe in Toyland,” by Weber, self-professed “bad boy” Tyler Ramsey meets up with Rita Mae Cole years after his ill-fated prom date with one of her sisters. Does the maxim “once a gorgeous, sexy jerk, always a gorgeous, sexy jerk” hold true, or has he changed? And what’s with the unused sex toys she’s carrying around?
