THE ITALIAN COUNT'S DEFIANT BRIDE (4) by Catherine George: It was love at first sight for Francesco da Luca and Alicia Cross. After a whirlwind romance they wed, but the marriage didn't last through the wedding night. Years later, still married, Francesco has come looking for her to finally deal with their relationship. Alicia thought she'd put Francesco behind her, until she sees him again. When an unexpected situation forces them to spend time together, will they finally be able to talk about all that happened between them? George does a superb job of showing these nicely drawn characters in love but unable to own up to it. The narrative's back-and-forth movement between the present and the past allows readers to be a part of all their ups and downs.
